“We are looking forward to come back again,” he said.
Seven athletes from Athletics Samoa are part of the three-day Fiji Secondary School Fiji Finals.
Head coach Ah Chong Sam Chong said they’re grateful to be part of the national championship.
“We have three athletes taking part in the field and four in the track events,” he said.
“They are all new and this is their first time in the Fiji finals” he said.
“I do not expect anything else. All I say to them is to have fun, make sure to get personal best and winning a medal is a bonus.”
Chong said most of their athletes funded their own trips to Fiji.
“We did fundraising but some of the money from the fundraising helped with accommodation and other stuff like uniform as its not cheap and these are the stuff that we use from our fundraiser,” he said.
“Our parents have been supportive on our Facebook page which is overwhelming and a special thanks to all the Coca Cola games organiser and Fiji athletics association.”
Chong said they won’t be part of the competition without the support of the event organisers.
“We are looking forward to come back again,” he said.
