Voza CHS acknowledges partial implementation of the new Education Act – Solomon Star News

Voza Community High School (VCHS) in Northwest Choiseul has officially acknowledged the partial implementation of the new Education Act 2023, which commenced this year, following a visit by the Choiseul Provincial Education Officer on Monday, this week.

The Principal Education Officer (PEO) for Choiseul province, Mr. Nevol Lekelalu visited VCHS as part of a tour of schools in Northwest and South Choiseul to ensure that teachers sign new contract agreements in line with the Act.

These contracts include detailed job descriptions intended to guide teachers in their professional duties.

During discussions with the school principal, Mr. Lekelalu emphasized that after the contract signing process, monitoring of teachers’ performance will begin.

He encouraged teachers to fully comply with the Act to strengthen accountability and improve educational outcomes.

In response, the school principal Cleston Kule Ngalavole acknowledged both the Ministry of Education and the Choiseul province Education provider for the partial implementation of the Act.

He also expressed appreciation for the timely visit by the PEO, encouraging teachers and school leaders to comply with the new legislation.

“The visit helps our teachers understand their responsibilities under the new Act,” Ngalavole stated, highlighting the importance of adherence to ensure effective education management.

However, implementation of the Education Act 2023 will continue across schools in the province as authorities work to standardize teacher contracts and monitor performance under the new legal framework.
