Veteran Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua utility back Luisa Basei Tisolo aims to improve on her goal-kicking in this year’s Super W competition.
The 33-year-old has been playing rugby for the past 12 years but this is her third year in the Drua outfit.
Hailing from Naqarani in Noco, Rewa, Tisolo shares her maternal links to Kuku in Bau, Tailevu.
She represented the Fijiana sevens team in the then HSBC World Sevens Series before securing a year’s contract in France during the 2017 season. In 2022 Tisolo had a one year club contract in Japan.
Speaking to SUNsports, Tisolo said she needs to improve on her communication and her goal-kicking skills.
“Since I am playing 10, I want to improve my communication on the field.
“I will also need to improve my goal-kicking because I have been doing it for the team for the past two years,” she said.
Her long-term goal is to make it to the Women’s Rugby World Cup, which kicks-off on August 22 in England.
“I’m looking forward to the season and I want to lift my performance to another level and help the Drua win back the Super W title this year.”
Her message to the new players who are aiming to play for the Drua, is to make use of their God given talent.
“They need to show it and not hide it,” Tisolo added.
Meanwhile, the Drua will host the Reds on March 8 as part of the International Day for Women celebrations.
Then on March 15, the Drua hosts the Brumbies at the same venue.
