The Asco Foundation has donated a 4×4 Hilux vehicle to Diabetes Fiji as part of its commitment to the ongoing fight against diabetes, a growing concern in local communities.
“Today, we celebrate not just the donation of a vehicle, but the strengthening of our commitment to the health and well-being of our community,” chief executive officer of Asco Motors and trustee of Asco Foundation Ronald Kumar said at the handover last week.
“We recognize the invaluable work that Diabetes Fiji does, and we are honored to support their mission. This vehicle will enable them to expand their outreach efforts, conduct health screenings, and provide essential education on diabetes management.”
The 4×4 Hilux is not only a reliable vehicle but also equipped to handle the diverse terrains of our region, allowing Diabetes Fiji to navigate rural and urban areas alike.
This capability is crucial for reaching underserved populations who may not have easy access to healthcare resources.
Board chair of Diabetes Fiji Taarvish Akbhar acknowledged Asco Foundation’s support and said the vehicle will be instrumental in helping them fulfill their mission to educate and assist those affected by diabetes.
“It will allow us to extend our reach and provide much-needed services to our communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for many individuals,” he said.
Asco Foundation’s donation is in line with its long-standing tradition of giving back to the community, and the donation was part of a broader initiative to promote health and wellness.
“We believe that corporate responsibility extends beyond business operations; it encompasses a commitment to fostering healthier communities,” Mr Kumar said.
“By partnering with organizations like Diabetes Fiji, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.”
