A 24-member delegation from the Church of Christ (COC) in Vanuatu has visited Malaita Province as part of their mission outreach program.
The group received a warm welcome upon arrival in Auki more than a week ago from members of the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) communities in Malaita.
As part of their outreach, the group conducted an open prayer session at the Auki Market, visited Kilu’ufi Hospital to pray for patients, and shared messages of hope and faith with those in need.
They also visited several key locations, including:
- Kilusakwalo Community High School, one of the most populated schools in central Malaita,
- The Ambu SSEC community for outreach activities,
- Auki SSEC Church,
- Fulikaomae SSEC community,
- Bina community — the site of the proposed multi-million-dollar Bina Harbour Project, and
- The Malaita Provincial Government Office.
One of the patients at Kilu’ufi Hospital, Mrs. Tracy, expressed her gratitude after receiving prayers from the group.
“Thank you for the healing prayers and the hope you brought through your service,” she said.
Pastor Timothy Apaeasi of Auki SSEC Church, who accompanied the visiting delegation, thanked the Malaita communities for their hospitality and support.
“The visit has strengthened ties between SSEC communities in Malaita and our fellow believers from Vanuatu,” he said.
“It’s been a wonderful and uplifting experience to have a mission group from our neighboring country share the word of God, especially with those who are sick and in need of spiritual comfort.”
Pastor Apaeasi added that such visits serve as an encouragement to local churches.
“It is encouraging to have visitors from our neighboring country come and share in faith and fellowship,” he said.
The Vanuatu delegation also expressed their appreciation to the Malaita Provincial Government for supporting their mission by providing transport and logistical assistance during their visit.
The group departed for Honiara today and is expected to return to Vanuatu over the weekend.
