Top Guns target FRU board

The Provincial Union representatives at this Saturday’s Fiji Rugby Union Annual General Meeting in Suva are going to elect the suitable candidates for each of the position.

He is a former Flying Fijian No.8, Fiji Drua chief executive officer Mark Evans is one of the candidates for Commercial Director and Former Flying Fijians head coach Ilivasi Tabua is a nominee for Rugby Director in new FRU managing board.

A list of high profile individuals are vying for positions in the new Fiji Rugby Union management board.

The candidates were nominated by the Provincial Unions, vetted by the nominations committee before it was shortlisted.

The process marks the implementation of the new constitution that is to move the Fiji Rugby Union forward.

The Provincial Union representatives at this Saturday’s Fiji Rugby Union Annual General Meeting in Suva are going to elect the suitable candidates for each of the position.

The positions in the management board include: Commercial Director, Women Director, Rugby Director, Legal Director and Finance Director.

A copy of the shortlisted candidates obtained by SUNsports yesterday revealed Fijian Drua chief executive officer Mark Evans, former Flying Fijians head coach Ilivasi Tabua, former World Rugby trainer Koli Sewabu, finance and investment expert John Sanday, banker Tony Ram, media guru Stanley Simpson, prominent lawyer Isireli Fa and first Fijiana captain Lajipa Naulivou are among those in the race for Rugby House.
