Team Fiji won bronze in both the women and men’s event.

Team Fiji is currently third on the Pacific Mini Games medal tally with 18 gold, 24 silvers and 19 bronze.

The athletics team won three gold medals on Saturday; Reki Robers won the female heptathlon while the male octathlon was claimed by Waisele Inoke while Naibili Vatunisolo threw a distance of 21.96m to win gold in the women’s javelin throw ambulant.

In the 100m finals on Saturday, Team Fiji won bronze in both the women and men’s event; 15-year-old Sera Nasilivata clocked of 12.20s while Waisake Tewa clocked 10.60s.

They had a rest day yesterday before athletics continues today including the men and women’s 400m finals. Former Fijiana player Heleina Young held the best time of 58.34s in the women’s heats.

Meanwhile, Tahiti comfortably leads the standing with 53 gold, 32 silvers and 18 bronze while Samoa is second with 27 gold, 13 silvers and 19 bronze .
