Tavuli Women’s Rugby Club finished the preliminary stage of the PacificAus Sports Women’s Rugby7s Series undefeated.
This followed the conclusion of round-robin play on Monday, 9 June at the Town Ground Rugby Stadium.
In a competition featuring six teams, with the top four advancing to Friday’s semi-finals, Tavuli opened their campaign with a narrow 17–14 victory over Diesel.
They quickly built momentum, dominating their next three matches with commanding wins including a 21–0 thumping of Crusaders in round two, a resounding 49–0 triumph over SINU in round three, and a 47–7 rout of Sosa in round four.
Tavuli cemented their place at the top of the standings with a convincing 32–7 win over second-placed Avaiki in their final group-stage match.
The semi-finals on Friday promise an exciting match ups, with Tavuli set to face fourth-placed Crusaders at 12:30 PM, followed by Avaiki taking on Diesel.
