Aspen Medical has left the discussions over the looming strike by 200 of their workers in Government’s court.
Responding to questions from this newspaper, an Aspen Medical spokesperson said they have followed due process up till this point.
“Aspen Medical has met with CETWUF and also attended mediation with the union, and they have been informed of the process we are legally required to follow,” the spokesperson said.
“This matter now rests with the Government, and we await the decision.
“The care and well-being of patients is our primary concern.
“Should this strike action go ahead, our contingency plan to provide uninterrupted healthcare services to the people of Fiji will be rolled out.”
In a statement yesterday, CETWUF national secretary John Paul said they had issued a strike notice scheduled for February 6.
He said Aspen Medical until then to meet the demands of the workers outlined in their log of claims.
