Suva captain Akosita Ravato put out a stellar performance as the capital side retained the ANZ Bosco Challenge trophy at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on Saturday.
The side defeated the Sainiana Qoro captained Nasinu side 29-7.
It was not so easy on the park, after both teams were locked 7-all at the breather. Nasinu rose to their ranks with impressive defence skills.
“The girls had played their hearts out for the victory,” said Ravato.
Ravato also picked up the best player of the match.
“They played with guts; Nasinu gave us a good game”.
Suva took the lead in the 13th minute to hooker Selai Naliwa and the successful conversion came from first five eight Mereani Moceituba, 7-0.
Sixth minute later, Nasinu fullback Veniana Lewarara levelled the score board with a try and conversion came from their half back Livinaisi Ramoli.
Ten minutes into the second half, prop Talei Toga dived over for a try with fullback Adi Melania slicing the uprights. Suva lead 14-7.
In the 70th minute Ada Dansey came off the bench and scored an unconverted try pushing the City Girls out of reach for Nasinu, 19-7.
Towards the end of the match, flanker Teresia Matea and substitute Ema Adivikataloga scored a try each.
Ravato thanked the team sponsors for continuing to believe in them.
