Following their unsuccessful shot at the INKK Farebrother-Sullivan Challenge trophy the Solo Nute coached FMF Suva side is focused on defending the Skipper Cup.
Suva lost 21-19 to holders Lautoka Maroons, at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka last Saturday.
Suva captain Mosese Naiova said the team wants to retain the trophy in the capital city.
“It was a great match between the two cities, our objective failed there,” said Naiova.
“It was not done, an unfinished job. We played a good match and we will meet again in the Skipper Cup eliminations.
“We thank our supporters and sponsors, we fell short, but we will make sure that the Skipper Cup rests in Suva.”
He praised Lautoka for their never say die attitude.
“Hats off to Lautoka for playing a great game and we wish them the best in their conquest this season.”
In the second round of the Skipper Cup competition on May 3, Suva had a narrow win over the Maroons in Lautoka.
Their Farebrother loss, was their (Suva) second defeat this season. The first was recorded at Prince Charles Park when they lost 17-12 to Jacks Nadi side in round nine.
