Star Midfielder Wants To Return Home

So far, Fiji FA has confirmed 20 transfer applications have been submitted, with a few key players already approved.

Good news for Labasa fans when star midfielder Edwin Sahayam filed his transfer application with the Fiji Football Association yesterday. He intends to leave Lautoka for the Babasiga Lions

The Fiji FA’s pre-season transfer window, which opened on January 6, will close on Friday.

So far, Fiji FA has confirmed 20 transfer applications have been submitted, with a few key players already approved.

 

New Zealand-based Gabirieli Matanisiga’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) application with the Fiji FA to join Rewa has been approved.

Goalkeeper Sanaila Waqanicaku has made the switch from Nasinu to Tavua while Kavaia Rawaqa leaves Suva for Rewa. Additionally, Dr. Diva Singh, the former head coach of Tavua, has made the move to Ba.

Nadroga has been the most active club in this Transfer Window, submitting seven applications to bolster their squad. The Stallions is making moves to strengthen key areas, including the signing of Jackson Wale, a Solomon Islander from Navua, Siomatama Kubu and Vuniuci Tikomaimereke from Nadi, Sakuisa Saqiri from Tailevu/Naitasiri, Tevita Khan from Rewa, Sailimone Ravonokula from Labasa and Lautoka’s Nilesh Prasad.

 

Rewa has targeted players like Mosese Nabose (from Tailevu Naitasiri) and Bruce Hughes (from Suva). The Delta Tigers have also applied for the transfer of Fiji Under-20 goalkeeper Ilisoni Koroi.

Nadi is looking to tap into the talent pool at Nadroga with the transfer of Romit Narayan, Zain Ali and lanky striker Rusiate Matarerenga

On the other hand, Labasa is set to bring in Apenisa Anare from Nasinu and Taveuni’s Sumeet Krishna to bolster their squad ahead of the season.

 

Lautoka is also making strides, as they prepare to welcome Panapasa Tawakeca from Suva.

Women

Meanwhile, the women’s side of the market has also seen some significant moves. Rewa Women’s FC has submitted transfer applications for Labasa’s Sonia Alfred, Jotivini Tabua, and Filomena Racea.  Ba women’s side is hoping to bring in Laniana Qereqeretabua and Penelope Pickering from Suva.
