Apia, Samoa – 02 July 2025 – One of the smallest of the nine villages that make up the Sagaga 4 constituency, has proven that leadership and working together in a community spirit, transcends being small.

Alamutu sub-village with only 368 people, has opened its Women’s Committee Centre – Fale Komiti that will not only be the centre for the Women committee’s activities but a community centre for the village.

The Alamutu Committee Centre was funded by the villages portion of $80,000 under the Sagaga 4 constituency’s 3rd million of the District Development Project.

Of the $80,000 specifically for Alamutu, $57,770.60 was allocated for the Women’s committee house. The balance was allocated for school fees.

The project was christened by the village church leaders last Saturday and celebrated by the small community who acknowledged the districts former Member of Parliament, Tagaloatele Pasi Poloa and the District Council – Fono Faavae for their vision in ensuring that all sub-villages are catered for.

Tagaloatele acknowledged the community spirit, vision and patience shown by the leaders and the Alamutu Women’s Committee and their perseverance in pursuing their vision.
