Southern United who currently settles on the 10th spot of the Super league 2025 season have made a strong statement when they shared point with the currently table leaders Malaita Kingz FC last Saturday at the East End stadium in East Honiara.
The match ended up in a 6 goals endless drama after 3 all in the 90 minutes of play.
Southern United stole the show when they lead the table leaders Malaita Kings 3-1 at half time before Kingz made a strong comeback to level the scoreline in the second half, making it 3 all at fulltime.
It was the Southerns United who opened the scoring sheet in the first half against Kingz from a beautiful strike by Trevor Sulia in the 8th minutes early in the first half.
Kings responded in the 26 minutes when Dalton Saeni found the back of the net to level the score at 1 all.
Fredrick Tego doubled the lead for Southern United in the 44 minutes leading Kingz 2-1.
A minute later before the half time whistle, Trevor Sulia struck again making it 3-1 to Kings.
Kingz knew that the match will result in a defeat if they don’t maintain their defence and fail to make use of their scoring opportunities in the second half so they regrouped and came back stronger to level the scoreline in the second half by another two goals from Dalton Saeni and Adrian Mara to get back to the game until the final whistle.
