Sigatoka businessman Jeral Sharma took out the inaugural Sigatoka Electric Cooperate Golf amateur title at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course over the weekend.
He shot 76 after a play-off with Ba school teacher Asish Chand.
“It was a great outing but a bit tough out there but I had to stick to the game,” said Sharma.
The overall net was scooped by Sumith Perera (67) while veteran Susie Yee scooped the ladies’ overall net.
In the professional category, Taitusi Tuivuci shot par 72 to be crowned champion, while Fiji Order of Merit leader Tomasi Tuivuna was two shots behind with 74.
“It was hard luck I guess but that’s what it is in the green on game day,” said Tuivuna.
Golf course manager Avinesh Datt said there were great participants for the great weather.
“I thank the players for committing to the last tournament of the year,” he said.
Sigatoka Electric Ltd managing director Vijay Narayan said they were happy with the turnout.
“We can confirm that the event will be bigger and better next year.”
