Shameem tells why IBO title is crucial?

This is Fiji super middleweight boxing champion Winston Hill’s moment of truth.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, South Pacific Boxing Promotion (SPBP) director Mohammed Shameem said if Hill beats Jyl Wright tomorrow night for the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Asia Pacific super welterweight title, it could be his pathway to a possible world title fight.

“If Hill wins, he could fight for the IBO international or world title fights in either the WBO (World Boxing Organisation) or WBA (World Boxing Association).

Wright, in an earlier interview said this is also an important fight in his career because of the IBO title that is at stake.

Meanwhile, Sydney-based heavyweight boxer Puna Rasaubale is expected into the country this morning.

He fights hard hitting Jonasa Kavika of Navosa in a heavyweight eliminator.

The winner of tomorrow night’s six-round bout gets the chance to fight Fiji heavyweight champion James ‘The Beast’ Singh for the Leweni Waqa Memorial title.

This is to revive the country’s heavyweight division.
