National Under-20 head coach Senirusi Seruvakula will name his final 30-member squad on the last week of January.
His side is preparing for two tournaments which will both be held in New Zealand in March; the Oceania and the Super U20.
Seruvakula said majority of the extended squad members were selected from the Vodafone Deans trophy competition last year.
He indicated that there has been a lot of interest of overseas-based players; a few has been training with the squad.
“Those two tournaments are the key focus of this team,” he said.
“We will be the national U20 side during the Oceania tournament before we will represent the Drua U20 in the Super Rugby U20 competition.”
He added that the Oceania comp will see Tonga, Samoa and Moana Pasifika.
“We will leave on the last week of February. After the Oceania on the first week of March, we will rest for about three days before the second tournament which will run for about one and half weeks.”
Seruvakula and his coaching staff will be conduction open trials in Duva, Sigatoka and Nadi on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
