After a lapse of two years super welterweight boxer Junior Saula hopes to make a comeback.

Saula, 29, will be in the ring on Saturday in the 70kg weight class.

“It is time that I break out of my shell and show my worth,” Saula said from Labasa.

“I have been away for two years, this is a comeback for me.”

Saula is part of the South Pacific Boxing Promotion, taking place at Subrail Park in Labasa this Saturday.

He is up against Natewa Bay debutant, Kali Vakalalabure, in the 6 by 3 bout.

Saula has fought four professional bouts, resulting in two knockout wins and two losses.

He has an undefeated amateur record winning all three fights; all were knockouts. He is not underestimating his opponent.

“I am going in the fight looking for a knockout,” he said.

When asked about his preparation, Saula said he had devoted three months to intensive boxing drills.

“Nat Ledua helped me with my training and taught me some tactics while my brothers at home stepped in as sparring partners.

“My opponent is going to bring his A-game to impress fans, but I am ready.

“I wish to thank Fiji Boxing Commission for bringing this fight to Labasa to allow Northerners the opportunity to witness good boxing action.”
