“The team is a mix of seasoned players that have played in the HSBC series, Pacific Games and the upcoming ones,” the former Flying Fijian star centre said.

Manueli Maisamoa likely to play in the Oceania 7s in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

Fiji Airways Fiji 7s assistant coach Vilame Satala will guide the men’s side to the Oceania Sevens in Honiara, Solomon Islands, this weekend.

Satala said the team has been training for the past four weeks and are looking forward to the tournament.

Satala has named five debutants including Lasaro Bogisa, Iosefo Namoce and Alipate Nabiu.

Namoce has been playing at centre for Suva in this year’s Skipper Cup competition.

“The team is a mix of seasoned players that have played in the HSBC series, Pacific Games and the upcoming ones,” the former Flying Fijian star centre said.

“The experienced players will lead from the front in a big tournament like the Oceania. We need the experienced players.”

The three seasoned players include Kavekini Kabu, Timoci Na-kausa and Manueli Maisamoa.

It will be the first time for the Hapi Isles to host the Oceania tournament, which is on December 7-8 and will feature 15 men’s and nine women’s teams. A total of 58 games to be played over the two days.

The tournament showcases a mix of seasoned rugby powerhouses and emerging talent, with a significant milestone as Niue and Kiribati make their debut in the women’s division.
