The couple’s son Jagger, who was born in May, accompanied Kerr down the aisle wearing a matching black suit.

As for Mewis’ own ensemble, she wore two gowns. The first was an off-shoulder, beaded and semi-sheer dress from Berta, and the second – the “party dress” – was a strapless look by Kyha Studios.

“My [first] dress was my dream dress,” Mewis said. “I saw it and knew I couldn’t move forward until I tried it on, and when I did, I knew that was my wedding dress without question.”

Paired with her first statement dress, the bride wore Rene Caovilla shoes, encrusted with Swarovski crystals and boasting the designer’s signature sculptural straps. Her flowing lacey veil, meanwhile, brought a more traditional bridal aesthetic to her look, contrasting the contemporary style of her dress.

Photos taken by Vogue Australia show the couple dancing up a storm later in the evening – Mewis shoeless, the pair arm-in-arm and sparklers going off behind them.

Reflecting on the day, Mewis said she was still in disbelief over how faultless it was. “We didn’t expect it to look so perfect and beautiful … It was exactly what we imagined and more. Seeing each other for the first time down the aisle – it was the most special moment.”
