The Good Old Days of Rock ’n’ Roll is a memory-driven show presented by Bob McKinnon where audiences will relive all the original hits from the actual hitmakers – Little Pattie, Digger Revell, Jade Hurley, Dinah Lee and Lucky Starr. Southern Cross Club, Woden, February 23.
Questacon will unveil its latest exhibition, Mangroves – Tales from the Tide, presents artwork from three textile artists, immersive multimedia, and First Nations stories to showcase the dynamic mangrove ecosystems. Opens February 21.
Kyra Geddes’ The Story Thief (Affirm Press) is a historical fiction inspired by Henry Lawson’s The Drover’s Wife and its twin painting by Russell Drysdale. Launches at The Book Cow Kingston, February 21 and The Yass Book Store, February 22.
U3A at NFSA: Still Silent After All These Years gives viewers a rare opportunity to view surviving films from Australia’s Silent Film Era (1896-1930) with presenters Marilyn Dooley and Helen Ludellen Theatrette, National Film and Sound Archive, February 21.
Stage
- Intended to make people laugh, cry and jump out of their seats, Baby Jane is at Canberra Rep Theatre February 20-March 8.
- Hub Fest, a festival of new Australian work, has been devised by Lachlan Houen. Two works, The Bestiary – An Interlude by Hannah Tonks and The Forsaken by Oliver Kuskie, will run at ACT HUB, Kingston, until February 22.

Concerts
- Latvian-born violinist Kristine and cellist Margarita Balanas, the Balanas Sisters, perform at Snow Concert Hall, February 20.
- The Hive Pop-Up Bar is on again with jazz by the Liv and Jess Duo. Kids welcome. The Yellow House, Crawford Street, Queanbeyan, February 21.
- Canberra Bach Ensemble is playing at St Christopher’s Cathedral in Manuka, February 22-23.
- Local pianists, Arnan Wiesel and Aaron Chew, are performing their Piano 4-Hands concert as the opener for the upcoming Harmonic Curves 2025 concert series. Wesley Music Centre, February 23.
- Mark Jurkiewicz will perform a selection of Chopin’s works for piano, in the Wednesday Lunchtime series, Wesley Music Centre, February 26.

- Sydney Printmakers, Visible but Intangible: A print exchange portfolio will be exhibited in its entirety at Megalo, Kingston, February 22-March 29.
- Craft + Design Canberra has Emerging Contemporaries and The Omega Series, where Pamela Irving transforms discarded sardine tins into whimsical Omega characters. Craft + Design gallery, Civic Square, from February 20.
