Rookie Fijian Drua second-five eighth Waqa Nalaga is hopeful of playing against the Melbourne Rebels at Churchill Park in Lautoka, next Saturday.

“I’m grateful to God for the strength and getting my first start on the team against the Queensland Reds,” he said.

“I was happy with my performance against the Reds and hope to do the same against Rebels.”

Nalaga said he was grateful to be playing alongside fellow centre Iosefo Masi who has a wealth of experience.

“I was just taking some of the tips he’d (Masi) given me on the field, so it was pretty good.

“We’ll have to put our win against the Reds behind us to refresh and reset so the boys can focus and win against Highlanders.”

Nalaga acknowledged his family, friends and fans for their support at the HFC Bank Stadium last week.
