Taane Milne never beats around the bush when it comes to reviewing his performance in this season’s NRL (National Rugby League) competition.

Speaking to SUNsports, the South Sydney Rabbitohs centre did not hold back but admitted that he had a disappointing season marred with suspension and injuries.

“I’m personally disappointed with myself and how South Sydney performed,” the 29-year-old told SUNsports.

However, Milne who has 88 NRL matches under his belt wants to change things around and finish the year on a high note.

And for Milne, the only way to do that is to put on a mesmerising performance for the Vodafone Fiji Bati starting in next Saturday’s Pacific Bowl Championships.

“I’m going to use those teasing remarks by my mates (on my performance) to prove my point,” he said.

Milne said everything changes from next Saturday against the Papua New Guinea Kumuls at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium.

He indicated that the Kumuls have been strengthened with the inclusion of their Super League stars like Nene MacDonald of Salford Red Devils, Rhys Martin who plays for Hull Kingston Rovers along with Castleford Tigers duo Sylvester Namo and Liam Horne.

“I’ve been told that they have arrived at the Kumuls camp. There’s no doubt that their recent experience from playing in the UK significantly boost their chances against the Bati.”

Milne said he is ready to come up against McDonald who had a superb Super League season.

Against the Cook Islands, the tough Bati centre is looking forward to face off against his Rabbitohs team-mate Davvy Moala.

“Davvy is a good mate in South Sydney and we’ve been competing for our spot all year. We’ve made remarks about our games, so I can’t wait to get on the field and face him again.”

Milne said the Bati has got some young talented players in the squad coupled with a few experienced ones.

“So I’m excited for the next couple of weeks when we get to camp on Saturday and hopefully we compete for our spots in the starting line-up,” he added.
