Prime Minister (PM) Jeremiah Manele MP has sent his warmest greetings to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), marking the celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year 2025.
In his message, PM Manele emphasized the strong and enduring relationship between Solomon Islands and China, highlighting the deepened political trust and flourishing exchanges in the areas of economics, culture, and people-to-people connections.
“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, we extend our well wishes to all Chinese peoples in China and all over the world. May 2025, the year of the Snake bring good health, happiness, peace and prosperity to you and to all your people.
“We also acknowledge the deepening of our bilateral relations and we continue to stand firm in our commitment to respect and uphold the One China Principle.”
Prime Minister Manele also expressed his gratitude for the Comprehensive Medical Centre, funded and built by China, acknowledging the significant role it plays in advancing the country’s health priorities.
“Solomon Islands appreciates the tremendous role that the People’s Republic of China play in supporting and lifting Solomon Islands achieve many of its development aspirations, establishing itself as an indispensable development partner,” he added.
The Chinese Lunar New Year falls on January 29th, 2025.
