Panatina sprint queens reign supreme

Panatina Community High School (CHS) has stamped its authority in the girls’ 100m events at the 2025 Solomon Islands Secondary School Games (SISSG25), claiming gold in both the junior and senior divisions on Tuesday July 1 at the National Stadium.

In the junior girls’ final, Javelyn blazed to victory with a time of 14.18 seconds after dominating her heat and surviving a close semi-final.

She edged out the Saint Joseph’s Tenaru duo of Mary Loft (14.31) and Pritania (14.34), who claimed silver and bronze respectively.

The senior girls’ category saw Debrah Hou continue her winning streak, storming to gold with a personal best time of 13.46 seconds. Haziel Aubasi also clocked a personal best of 13.76 seconds to grab silver, while Mary Fatima of Koloale CHS finished with bronze.

Meanwhile, in the junior boys’ showdown, Saint Joseph’s Tenaru made it a one-two finish. Jason surged ahead in the final 20 meters to snatch gold with a time of 11.5 seconds, followed closely by teammate Crowford. Edward of Adaua, representing Malaita Province, claimed the bronze.
