OPMC Christmas/end year party

The Office of the Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet (OPMC) hosted its annual Christmas and end-of-year party on Friday at the Cowboys Grill Bar and Restaurant, where Prime Minister Honourable Jeremiah Manele expressed his gratitude to all division heads for their hard work over the past seven months in office.

He acknowledged the vital support of staff members’ families, recognizing their role in helping their loved ones serve in the nation’s highest office.

The prime minister briefed the staff about the week’s tight schedule with the passing of next year’s budget and the political development.

He highlighted the positive impact of maintaining morning devotion at the Cabinet room and pledged to continue this practice next year.

Also addressing the gathering was Dr. Jimmy Rodgers, the secretary to the prime minister, who shared his reflections on the journey of the current administration.

He emphasized the significant accomplishments achieved since the government’s election earlier this year, noting the critical contributions that staff members make to keep the country progressing.

Dr. Rodgers referred to the staff as “success stories of the country,” show casing their dedication and impact.

The event was vibrant and filled with joy, as different divisions showcased their talents through carols and dance performances.

Each group was evaluated by a panel of judges who later presented tokens of appreciation to the best-performing groups.

In addition to the performances, the event also honoured the non-established staff of the office, acknowledging their invaluable contributions throughout the year.

A spokesperson for the fundraising committee said the closing program was a tremendous success made possible by the funds generated through the office’s fortnightly fundraising activities since the beginning of the year.

“Though we kick off fundraising activities later in the third quarter this year, we managed to collect sufficient funds and contribution from each department to host this closing function.

“Our gathering shows the collective effort of each staff member and appreciates the support of their family members, children, wives, husbands, and close peers. Most importantly, it reinforced the importance of teamwork and recognition within the workplace.

“May the melody and spirit of the holidays fill your home with love and peace and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025!”
