One person is in a serious condition following an accident in the central Auckland suburb of Freemans Bay.

A witness told the Herald it looked like emergency services were tending to someone underneath a concrete mixing truck while police controlled traffic on either side.

“Paramedics were holding a stretcher and one could be seen going under the concrete truck.”

Another witness said there were about eight police cars on Franklin Rd blocking it off in one direction.
