“We’ll have to meet internally and we’ll see how it goes. So far we only have been giving it to those at the word level, world cup and Olympics.”

There has not been any discussion yet on the men’s netball team rewards following their historic Men’s Nations Cup win in Singapore earlier this month.
This was confirmed yesterday by Minister of Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru.
The men’s team defeated Australian Under-20, 55-54, in the final to lift the Merlion Cup at Jurong East Sports Complex.
“At the moment, there is nothing in place but we will have a look at it,” Saukuru told SUNSports.
“We wish to thank them for winning their first international tournament. I think we should thank them as a nation – our sports people have really showed the world that we are the best.”
Saukuru added that the cash incentives and rewards was only awarded to teams that played at the World Cup and Olympic Games.
“We’ll have to meet internally and we’ll see how it goes. So far we only have been giving it to those at the word level, world cup and Olympics.”
The Fiji men’s netball team only lost to Australia U20 in the round robin pools; they defeated England, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong during the week-long tournament.
