A new proposed political movement, the Allied Fiji Party, has been announced to the public, with its proponents calling on Fijians to support its formal registration ahead of future elections.
Introducing the movement on social media, spokesperson Sikeli Wise said the party was created to promote change, unity and progress, and to offer a new vision for the country.
Wise clarified that the Allied Fiji Party is not yet a registered political party, but confirmed steps have already been taken to secure its identity.
“For full disclosure, we are not yet a registered political movement,” he said.
“However, we have reserved the name Allied Fiji Party with the Fiji Elections Office, ensuring that our identity and our vision are secured as we work toward registration.”
He described the reservation of the party name as an important first step in formalising the movement.
“This step marks the beginning of our journey to formalise our movement and bring our shared vision for Fiji to life,” Wise said.
“Most importantly, we are now broadcasting our existence to the nation.”
The movement is now seeking to meet the legal requirement of 5,000 signatures to become officially registered.
