New outdoor learning area for Dorie School

Children at Dorie school who are transitioning from preschool to primary will soon have a new outdoor learning area thanks to ANZCO Foods’ Sponsor a School Programme.

The new area will be attached to the new entrant classroom and will enable easy indoor and outdoor play for the children as well as provide a better transition for young learners.

It will include water play activities, a mud kitchen, bean bags and a ranch slider between the classroom and outdoor area.

Through their Sponsor a School Programme, which works with local dairy farming families to nominate rural primary schools to receive donations, ANZCO has donated $4328.50 toward the new learning area.

Principal of Dorie School, Donna Donnelly says the funding allows them to achieve goals they otherwise would not.

“This donation enables us to accomplish things we wouldn’t be able to with government funding alone”.

The project is beginning these school holidays and Donnelly said they hope to have the area complete by the middle of the year.

ANZCO has also made a $6,000 donation towards Hinds School’s new tennis courts through the programme, which are due to be finished in the coming months.
