The Nasinu Secondary School (NSS) Under-17 side has set their goal to reach the Vodafone Fiji Secondary School Rugby League final.
They have booked their semi-final spot after they defeated Marist Brothers High School, 24-10, at St Marcellin Primary School on Saturday.
Head coach Semesa Matai said this would be their pre-season of the Vodafone Deans competition.
“We are trying to have as much team bonding as we can before the quarterfinal,” he said.
“Majority of our students are day scholars so we will march into camp this week.
“We thank God for this win, Marist was not an easy team, they had the size – we were smaller.
“We came in with the David’s motto that despite our built and stature we will beat Goliath,” Matai added.
NSS also reached the national quarterfinal last year. They lost to QVS, 24-18.
“Our spiritual life and team bonding is up another notch this year and we’re hopeful to reach the final.
“We’ve gained that the missing link in student’s lives is to acknowledge God in everything and it will set their paths on the right way.”
The national quarterfinal draws will be released this week.
