The Savali Logistics Nalutu Brothers won their opening match against Bua Babaas 12-0 at the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens tournament yesterday.
It was the first time for the team from Korovuli, Macuata, to play at the HFC Bank Stadium.
However, their captain Saiasi Maitoga has already played at the stadium since he was a member of the Suva Under-20 squad. Earlier on he played for Ratu Kadavulevu School and Lelean Memorial School during the Vodafone Deans Trophy.
Maitoga said they have only played together at the Fiji Bitter Labasa Sevens.
“This is a great opportunity for our side and we are grateful for our sponsors,” he said.
“We’re here to showcase our talent that we’re as good as the teams in Viti Levu especially those that have been playing regularly at the Marist Sevens. Winning the first game was a bonus for us.”
