Molis eyes first Fiji Fact final

It will be an all-Solomon Islands showdown this Saturday as Suva FC, featuring the Gagame brothers, Gagame Feni and Molis Gagame takes on Rewa FC, led by Solomon Islands international John Orobulu and goalkeeper James Do’oro, in the second semi-final of the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT.

Playing in his first-ever Fiji FACT tournament, the 25-year-old former Solomon Warriors FC midfielder Molis Gagame told Star Sports that he is pleased with his debut performance and is determined to go all the way.

“I’m really happy with the team now that we’ve made it to the semi-finals. It’ll be a tough match, especially going up against two fellow countrymen and a longtime teammate from Solomon Warriors, John Alick. But once we’re on the field, we’re rivals, and this is a game everyone will want to win,” he said.

Suva FC will also be hoping that star forward Gagame Feni recovers in time for the semi-final, as he is still nursing a knock sustained during their first pool match.

Reflecting on his time at Suva FC, Molis shared that adapting to a new playing style was a challenge, but he is growing more comfortable with each game.

“I’ve been with Suva FC for about three to four months now. At first, it was very difficult because the playing style in Fiji is quite different from back home, but I’ve been improving game by game, and I’m really looking forward to Saturday’s semi-final,” he added.

Suva FC topped Group B with two wins and a draw. Rewa, on the other hand, needed a bit of luck to advance after a 1-0 loss to Lautoka in their final group match. Fortunately for them, Ba’s 1-0 win over Navua later in the day ensured the Delta Tigers’ progression to the semi-finals.

Meanwhile the other semi final will be between group A winners Lautoka and Labasa who also has another Solomon Islander, 20-year-old Jimson Abana in their lineup.
