Mercy school receives support from East Honiara Constituency

EAST Honiara Consistency has supported Mercy Community High School in Burns Creek area North West Guadalcanal with a number of items.

The support featured 70 chairs, two solar security lights, and six bins for each classroom.

School Principal Dickson Koke told the Solomon Star that the school has been facing a number of challenges over the years.

And he was grateful that the Member of the Parliament (MP) for East Honiara Morris Toiraena and the constituency office for stepping in to support the institution.

“I am here to express my sincere gratitude to the MP for East Honiara for his timely support towards our school which helps to address some of the challenges we face in our school for sometime,” he said.

He said, the school administration will continue to work closely with the MP to ensure the school is able to deliver quality education to the community.

Apart from the assistance, some of the students are also receiving support from the constituency office through school fee support, he added.

He also thanked the Constituency Development Officer (CDO) Lesley Lamani for his continuous support in collaborate with the school development plan.   

Principal Koke is also pleading to the MP for North West Guadalcanal and the MP for Lau and Mbaelelea constituency to support the school

“Burns Creek is situated in North West Guadalcanal Constituency which should be considered by the MP for North West Guadalcanal Francis Belande Sade.

“Also a lot of people here are from Lau and Mbaelelea which is under the care of MP Ben Maenu’u,” he said. 

The school said, it welcomes support from other stakeholders to ensure the school continues to serve the community.
