The Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) Under-15 rugby side dedicated their 22- 7 Vodafone Deans Trophy semi-final win against Gospel High School (GHS) to the late father of their No.8 Senitiki Kuruvakadua.

Speaking to SUNsports on Saturday, MBHS U15 head coach Jone Temo said the win was made possible through divine intervention.

“I told the players at halftime to work on their line speed and defence against a tough Gospel side,” he said.

“It will be something that we’ll focus on in our preparation for the final.”

Temo said they would also work on their strength and conditioning before facing Suva Grammar School in the final.

“Most of our players are athletes so the fitness is there. We just have a few niggling injuries but hopefully they’ll be fit to play in the final.”
