Locals encouraged to study at USP

THE University of the South Pacific Solomon Islands Campus Director Dr Billy Fito’o has encouraged Solomon Islanders to register for a course and study at the regional university’s Honiara Campus.

Dr Fito’o issued the encouragement when speaking to local media during the USP Open Day in Honiara on Tuesday.

“I encourage everyone to come and register and pursue their dreams at the USP because it is never too late for anyone to have their qualifications here at the new USP facility at King George,” he said.

Dr Fito’o said prospective students can be rest assured that at the newly opened USP Campus facility at King George and Lawson Tama Center, they can undertake their learning from one campus/center as they have high-tech equipment to access lectures from each other as well as lectures from the main Laucala Campus in Suva, Fiji, and other USP campuses across the region.

He said space should not be a problem as far as studying at USP in Honiara is concerned because students can also download lectures to take back home to study.

Dr Fito’o said these are some of the advantages of studying at the USP, either in Honiara or elsewhere in the Pacific.

The USP King George Campus officially opens today.
