The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens team was welcomed at their training base in Libourne, France, early this week.
The Mayor of Libourne Philippe Buisson said it was pride and a great honour for the city to welcome the defending Olympic Games gold medal champions in sevens rugby.
“I thank the (Fiji) team for promoting the values of this sport to our young people,” Buisson said.
The Osea Kolinisau coached-side will be based there before moving to the Games Village as the men’s sevens competition of the Paris Olympic Games starts on July 24.
The competition takes a break on July 26 for the Olympic Games official opening before the finals get underway on July 27.
