The Bluewater Boxing promotion scheduled on February next year will see veteran Joseph Kwadjo take on Robin Hazel-man in the main bout.

This was confirmed to SUNsports yesterday by promoter Samir Khan.

“We’ll be having four programmes next year,” he said.

The February fight will be at the Vodafone Arena, Suva, it will be launched at 1pm on Friday at Suva’s Holiday Inn.

“Other boxers who are part of the programme include Alifereti Kauyaca, Paulo Ratumaikoro, Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana,” he said.

Khan added that Mohammed Ali and Jese Ravudi will also be fighting.

“We have followed the rules and regulations in our previous three boxing programmes this year,” he said.

“We haven’t faced any difficulties regarding the provision of an ambulance and doctors including drug tests as well.”
Khan said the public are aware that boxers are not insured in these fights.

“It’s a brutal and competitive sport whereby there is no insurance covered by the athlete,” he said.

“We’ll be strictly monitoring the boxer’s health and we’ll require the boxers to provide the medical certificate to us.”

Khan said Bluewater boxing promotion will be giving opportunities for boxers who are registered with boxing clubs.

“Boxing club manager or coach are to be registered, as we won’t allow any person who claims to be manag-er or coach without proof,” he said.

“We’ll require certificates from the club and even if they are manager or coach; we will require the profile certificates from them.”
