“I’m pretty excited to go to my village and see the place where my dad was brought up and meet the people there,” Valetini told SUNsports.

This is the moment Swire Shipping Fijian Drua utility back Kemu Valetini is waiting for.
Next week, the 30-year-old is among the Drua squad that will be travelling to Kadavu for a three-day training camp.
Valetini who originally hails from Galoa in Kadavu, is going to the island for the first time.
“I’m pretty excited to go to my village and see the place where my dad was brought up and meet the people there,” Valetini told SUNsports.
“I heard that Kadavu is a nice place. I thank the boys and management for taking the camp there.”
Valetini’s younger brother Rob is the Australian Wallabies go-to-man in the forwards.
Their dad Manu played for Lautoka while his younger brother Osea Koliloa played for Fiji and was regarded as one of the country’s best openside flankers.
Other Drua players who hail from Kadavu include Simione Kuruvoli, Philip Baselala and Etonia Waqa.
Valetini who plays at No.10 was moved to second-five eighth during the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.
“For me at the end of the day, I will be playing in the team.
“We have some quality 10s here. Izzy (Ravula) and (Caleb) Muntz.
“So if the coach is happy with them and for me to start either at 10 or 12, I’m also happy.”
Valetini added that the 2025 season would be a little tougher for them.
“However, a lot of these boys in the backline are competing for spots and it will be tough, but it is good for the team as a whole,” he added.
