Cuvu College celebrate their win 23-22 against Ratu Kadavulevu School during the Deans quarterfinals on 10 August, 2024.
The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is still working on improving their game especially in the scrums. This was revealed to SUNsports yesterday by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu.
“There is still room for improvement,” he said despite Cuvu College’s 23-22 upset win against Vodafone Deans Trophy favourites Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinal.
Speaking to SUNsports, Navatu said it was a torrid encounter.
“Glory to God for this win,” he said.
“We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
Navatu said they were confused with the blunder regarding the final score especially when the officials announced RKS as the winner.
“We were happy when the decision was reversed but the job is not done yet. Some of our boys in the team are still 17-year-olds while some are 18, but they managed to make it work,” he added.
Navatu is calling on the support of their die-hard fans to come out in numbers to cheer them on in the semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
