James Cameron will hold a press conference to reveal the plot details of Avatar 4 if the franchise is cancelled.
The Oscar-winning director has stated that the future of Avatar depends on the third movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, being a financial success but even if
it is axed, he has vowed to bring closure to the fans.
James told Entertainment Weekly: “I don’t know if the saga goes beyond this point. I hope it does. But, you know, we prove that business case every time we go out … If we don’t get to make 4 and 5, for whatever reason, I’ll hold a press conference and I’ll tell you what we were going to do. How’s that?”
Disney currently has Avatar 4 on its calendar for 2029, with Avatar 5 set for release in 2031.
Cameron, 71, would also love to turn the stories into novels but claims that will not be viable as “people aren’t reading” anymore.
