Five fire crews were called the the house fire in Wairoa.
Firefighters remain at the scene of an early morning house fire in the Wairoa township.
Five fire trucks from Wairoa, Nuhaka, Manutuke, and Napier were called to Marine Parade at 4.26am on Friday.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the house was fully on fire by the time they arrived and firefighters were still working on the site at 8.40am.
“We still have four appliances there at the moment and I imagine the fire investigator will be going along as well.”
A police spokesperson said police conducted traffic management at the scene.
