“It will be a blood bath as both of us will have broken noses, cuts around our eyes, we’ll be at war in this fight,” he said.
Ubayd Haider.
Ubayd Haider had described his upcoming South Pacific boxing IBO (International Boxing Organisation) Oceania-Orient vacant featherweight title against China’s Runqi Zhou as the biggest test in his boxing career.
“My preparation for the fight started this week after a long lay-off and I’ll make sure that I’ll leave no stones unturned,” Haider said.
“The only challenge is there’s not much involved in boxing, and I do not have a lot of sparing partners here in Fiji,” he said.
Haider said he’ll be more focused in his preparation training solo.
“He (Zhou) is very tough, and I will have to match him in the ring,” he said.
“Zhou has a very high work rate, I don’t think he’s got an interesting power, but he knows how to box.”
Haider said he will be at war with his Asian opponent in the South Pacific boxing promotion at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on October 26.
“I’ve been training alone because of my work and the timing of the match,” he said.
“I train in Suva at the Uptown boxing gym.”
Haider is urging fans to come and witness the exciting fight.
“It will be a blood bath as both of us will have broken noses, cuts around our eyes, we’ll be at war in this fight,” he said.
“My opponent has a good team as he trains with world champions like the Maloney twins, Alex Winwood and Bruno Tarimo.
“They all train under one roof, it is not going to be an easy task fighting him.”
Haider said he was sure his critics would attend the match to see him get knocked out.
“I’m going to prepare myselfwell and we’ll have a good fight,” he said.
“Like every other fighter, I will be coming for victory.”
Haider said he has good boxing footwork strategy and height advantage against Runqi Zhou.
“I’m thankful towards South Pacific Boxing promotions and Amarok Accessories for their support,” he said.
