Brother-and-sister team Adam and Elisa Mariani (of nearby Elio’s Place and Maverick on Little Collins Street) serve made-to-order beauties at Greta, a chic wood-and-glass hangout at the basement of the majestic Olderfleet tower.
At lunch, baguettes include Greta’s famous beef roll stuffed with slow-cooked beef cheek, mozzarella and pesto, with a side of napoli for dunking purposes.
The Euro-inspired wine-diner also has a great Thursday-night lure: your choice of two pastas and a glass of “very good” wine for only $30. (Hot tip: Wednesday night is dedicated to $22 parmigiana). Walk-ins are welcome, but bookings are encouraged.
