If you haven’t yet visited Gracie’s Wine Room, chances are you’ve heard of it – whether from founder Kelsie Gaffey’s behind-the-scenes TikTok videos documenting the entire process of opening a wine bar at just 25 years old, or from the hoards of punters hailing the arrival of a new South Yarra hot spot.
Behind a historic shopfront on Toorak Road, perch at the newly renovated tiled bar or in the sunny brick-paved laneway courtyard for chilled vinos and share plates. The menu is predictable but does what contemporary Melbourne wine bars do best – think Sydney rock oysters, lobster and salmon caviar rolls, fluffy focaccia accompanied by stracciatella, bresaola and hot honey, or charcuterie plates loaded with cheese, pickles and cured meats.
