2025 McDonalds Fiji Coral Coast ambassador Santiago Gomez Cora will not be present at the three-day tournament next week.
This followed instructions by his doctor following an emergency surgery; the Argentina sevens head coach is restricted medically to travel for at least a month.
“We send Santiago our best wishes in his recovery and we look forward to seeing you down in Fiji in 2026.”

Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team headlines Pool A with the New Zealand sevens team 2; the other two teams in the same pool are Tuva and Brothers.
Pool B sees NZ Sevens 1, Drua 7s, Seattle Barbarians and Colo West while POOL MC: BLK Lavidi, Manu Samoa 7s, Bula bay 7s, Ratu Filise,
The Aussie Select 7s and McDonalds Mike Friday Select 7s are the two overseas team in Pool D; Devo Babas and Taikita Brothers 7s completes the pool.
