“We don’t expect the match against Tonga to be an easy one because the first match is always difficult, but the whole idea is to settle down and get straight into the game,” he said.

The Fiji Junior Kulas are set for the OFC Under-16 Women’s Championship, which kicks off on Sunday at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium.
Fiji U16 head coach Marika Rodu has expressed confidence in the team’s preparation as they enter the final stages of preparation.
“The preparation is well underway, and we are coming to our last week of preparation and trying to keep things down. The girls are in good condition and getting ready for the first match against Tonga,” Rodu told Fiji FA Media.
Rodu anticipates a challenging opening match against Tonga, acknowledging that the first game is often the toughest.
“We don’t expect the match against Tonga to be an easy one because the first match is always difficult, but the whole idea is to settle down and get straight into the game,” he said.
The no-nonsense coach highlighted Tonga’s defensive approach, noting their tendency to set up a low block, which could make it difficult for Fiji to break through.
However, Rodu is optimistic about the Junior Kulas’ chances, saying, “We will look into that and secure the three points on Sunday.”
The match kicks-off at 3pm.
