Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has thrown its support behind Fiji Airways’ application to fly there via direct flights to and from Nadi.

Fiji Airways had filed an application with the United States Department of Transportation early this month to tentatively begin servicing this route from June 2025.

In a support letter to the US Department of Transpiration, Executive Vice President Operations of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Christopher McLaughlin said they support Fiji Airways for this route.

“I urge you to expeditiously grant this application, so that Fiji Airways can begin connecting DFW’s more than 73 million customers to the South Pacific,” he said.

“Fiji Airways’ application represents an exciting expansion of international service at DFW. Once flights start, the three times a week service will be the only nonstop flight to the South Pacific from DFW.”

“The new service enables DFW to provide more options to customers and will benefit leisure travellers looking for new destinations and travel experiences.”

“The non-stop route benefits travellers allowing them to arrive in Fiji faster with fewer connections,” Mr McLaughlin said.

“Travellers from Fiji will be able to fly directly into North Texas and easily and conveniently commence their onward travel to one of these domestic nonstop destinations from DFW.”

Mr McLaughlin said DFW will be proud to be the first destination Fiji Airways plans to serve under the new Open Skies Agreement negotiated between the governments of Fiji and the United States.
