“It’s always hard to keep up with training this time of the year because there family functions, feasting and drinking kava.

Training during the festive season is always tough.
This was the comment of Lavidi Brothers captain Sefanaia Vuli as they prepare for the McDonalds Fiji Coral Coast 7s next week.
The Coral Coast 7s will be held from January 16-18 at Lawaqa Park, SIgatoka; Lavidi is one of the 16 teams in the men’s division.
“There are a lot of things that hindered our training, many missed training last week as they went to their villages to spend Christmas and New Year.
“It’s always hard to keep up with training this time of the year because there family functions, feasting and drinking kava.
“We’re glad that most of us made it to our Sigatoka sand dunes sessions.”
Vuli a former national sevens squad member hopes that to return to the side soon. He had a short stint with the Kaiviti Silktails side before he returned to rugby union.
“We are preparing well, we want to be consistent with our fitness and be on the same level with every player; we know that the Coral Coast 7s is one of the toughest sevens in the country.
“With our former captain George Bose on the national side, we hope that more from this team will follow his footsteps by showcasing our talent in Sigatoka next week.”
Vuli added that his goal this year is to return to the sevens squad.
“I’m trying my best to return to the national side and I’m ready if I’m called to be part of it.”
Also part of the Lavidi Brothers side is national sevens squad members Iosefo Namoce and Livai Ikanikoda.
The Lavidi Brothers were runner-up at the 31st R.C Manubhai Nataleira 7s at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori last month.
