All boxers are given equal opportunities to challenge boxing bouts.
This was reiterated by Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) chairman Adi Narayan during the launch of the Bluewater Boxing Promotion last Thursday at Suva’s Holiday Inn.
Narayan indicated they would not interfere despite the differences between the relevant boxers’ number of fights.
“If a boxer has got a record which does not match an opponent, the commission will not object to that,” he told SUNSports.
“If you want to fight, we will give you a chance, prove yourself because it’s a contest, it’s not a championship fight.”
Narayan said Robin Hazelman has a chance to challenge the cruiserweight title holder (Alivereti Kauyaca) on the condition that he defeats Joseph Kwadjo.
“Give him a chance, he might knock him (Kwadjo) out, and we’ll see what happens in the Bluewater boxing promotions on February 22,” he said.
Hazelman and Kwadjo will headline the fight at the Vodafone Arena.
There will be 15 bouts.
